Good article. I'll add another point for emphasis. One of the primary reasons for constructing the ISS was for microgravity science, a place where chemical, physical and life sciences could be studied without the affects of gravity. This type research is extremely difficult on Earth consisting of drop tubes with only seconds of microgravity, but in space microgravity is part of the natural environment. Rotating a vehicle to produce artificial gravity may yet prove viable when we start journeys to Mars that could last years in space. I am hopeful such vehicles will be constructed and tested on future stations as part of the current Lunar / Mars program initiatives.
