His Peace

-

Life was filled with twists and turns,

conflicts every day.

Off to work I tried to hide,

who could know my pain.

-

Problems racing through my mind,

solutions out of sight.

Each new day they multiplied,

tormenting through the night.

-

For years and years I could not resolve

such questions in my mind.

What is love? Where is peace?

My life in such a bind.

-

So up and out I left that war,

where peace had no hope.

To find new life I trusted Him,

the Prince of Peace, my joy.

-

Out the door and on the road,

a new life did I seek.

Where peace would be its guiding light,

and love is true, not fake.

-

Amazing things have happened since,

I made that faithful step.

Protection, guidance, peace and joy,

in all things, needs were met.

-

Goals and dreams, they still come true,

I see them every day.

Peace is here and freedom reigns,

a new life here to stay.

-

Protected by the One I trust,

to guide me through this life.

I’ve found the one who I can see,

stands strong by my side.

-

A partner, friend, and confidant,

lover, mate, and teacher.

Debater on life’s complexities,

a counselor, not a preacher.

-

Love is mighty, love is strong,

in Him I will believe.

And with my mate we’ll stand as one,

in Him I have that peace.

-

So on this day and every day,

I give you something rare.

The peace that God knows in my heart,

that makes our love so dear.

-

Peace is yours’, peace is mine,

peace is ours to share.

In love it is our place in life,

His peace to declare.

-

Peace be with you.
